Appleton Estates Rum Tour
A timeless journey through the soul of the finest rums in the world.
The Appleton Estate has been blending rums since 1749 and the Rum Distillery is sited beside the Black River in one of the most beautiful valleys in Jamaica, south of Montego Bay. You can savour these award-winning rums after you tour the distillery and learn the details of the distilling process from sugarcane, molasses, sugar, to wine and rum. Bar, gift shop, souvenirs and snacks are available.

Irie Safari
Irie Safari offers a seventy minute eco-tour into the Black RIver nature reserve.  
The reserve encompasses 18,000 acres of natural wetlands and swamped forests, traversed by five major rivers.  The tour is a guided and narrated tour up the Black and Broad rivers in pontoon type tour boats where the visitor is introduced to the fauna and flora of the reserve.  Of note are the majestic Red Mangrove trees, the sun-bathing American Saltwater Crocodile and many species or water fowl.
The adventurous can swim at the top of the tour!

The Irie Safari is located in the town of Black River on Jamaica’s South Coast.  We are roughly ninety kms. from Negril,  eighty five kms. from Montego Bay and sixty five kms. from Mandeville.

Entering Black River from the west pass the Police Station driving north to the next intersection at Brigade Street and turn left following the Irie Safari or Lost River Kayak Adventures signs to our riverside location.  From the Mandeville side turn left at Brigade Street and pass NCB bank.  Turn left following the Irie Safari signs.

Visitors can get to us by either renting a car, charter a small bus, or arrange a tour by calling us at (876) 965-2211.  We can accommodate large groups who wish to kayak the Black River at an old Great House
on a hill overlooking the wetland.

 

 

Mayfield Falls
Situated on a five-acre property, Mayfield Falls is a great spot for camping, hiking and picnicking. Other activities include cliff jumping; cave diving, relaxing in one of the natural jacuzzis and enjoying a massage. The staff at Mayfield Falls welcomes everyone. Royal Palm Reserve
Escape to the Royal Palm Reserve and discover the enchantment of Negril’s hidden treasure. This 300-acre site boasts 114 plant species including the Royal Palm, which is unique to this area. There are over 300 animal species including birds, butterflies and reptiles. Come and experience the beauty and tranquility of this local sanctuary Travel 10 minutes out of Negril to Sheffield.
