The Jamaica International Kite Festival is a one of a kind event that has as its nexus the long held tradition of Kite design, making and flying. The event was until 2010 staged at the Seville Great House but outgrew that venue. The 2011 staging was the 8th annual having moved to a new more spacious venue right on the ocean and improved on its usual 9000 average attendance to attract 20,000 patrons. The festival has also drawn attention from international kiting organizations and is a part of the international calendar.

The American Kiting Association, Canadian Kiting Federation and the West Indian Kite Association have all not only attended but are impressed with what we offer. The festival is rounded off with an international styled concert (Shaggy, Freddie McGregor, Coco Tea, Wayne Wonder etc. have graced the stage) The venue is transformed into a village featuring Jamaican food, art craft and a full kiddies village.  The above mentioned International organizations have in excess of 8000 members and we are offering them a week filled with the best Jamaica has to offer. 800 overseas guests are expected.
