REGGAE FILM SERIES
This is an annual event showcasing films featuring Jamaica’s Reggae culture, including documentaries, full lengthfeatures, animation, music videos, seminars and awards.
The event has shown more than 60 films, many of which have gone on to win international awards and distribution. Film makers have paid their way to attend the event fromEngland, USA, Canada, Span, Germany, Holland, Hawaii, Japan, Serbia and films have also been entered by film makers in Croatia, Italy, Argentina, South Africa and Nicaragua. Thousands of local residents are expected to attend. The festival continues to attract productions from all over the world that are part of a growing genre of films depicting aspects of Jamaican culture, music and history and the ways in which this music culture has impacted the world.
The event includes premieres, seminars, competitions, new digital media work, live music performances and star studded gala events.
